Superb Gîtes, with only the coastal road between the properties and the beach, situated on the East coast of the Contentin peninsular, only a few miles from St Mère Eglise in Normandy.

The complex comprises 4 gîtes, which were renovated in 2004 from the house and buildings of a former coastal farm.  The properties are of either 80 or 100 square metres, and the largest, the former farmhouse has splendid views of the beaches and sea from the newly built lounge on the first floor, looking out to La Hougue and  the Saint Marcouf islands.

All are fully fitted with modern kitchens, with cooker, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle (unusual in a French gîte), toaster and coffee maker etc.

Gîte no 1 (in the foreground in the picture) has a private terrace for outdoor dining, while the other properties have a  picnic table and barbecue to the front of the property.  Each is screened from the neighbour by a fence.

Each property consists of 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin, and a shower room (which also houses the washer/drier).

The area received the first American forces of the Normandy landings in 1944, and therefore has many museums and memorials of that time.  The start of Utah beach, as it became known, is only a couple of miles down the coast, with the General Leclerc monument very close by.  The Route de la liberation commences from the museum just 2 miles to the South, and there still remains a dummy soldier, hanging in a parachute from the top of the church at St Mère Eglise.

All beach based activities are almost at the doorstep, be it walking, fishing, bird watching or swimming, and close by there is the opportunity for tennis, horse riding, golf and sailing.  There is a shop at about 1 kilometre, at the local camp site to pick up daily provisions, and the nearest supermarket is at St Mère Eglise, about 6 miles away.  The nearest restaurant is about 2 kilometres to the North, with a bar a similar distance to the South.
