A delightful cottage for 2/3 in Marquise, midway between Calais and Boulogne in Pas de Calais

The cottage is situated near the town centre of Marquise, a pleasant town (population 4500 approx) with most facilities about  21kms from Calais and 14 kms from Boulogne. It is about 5 minutes from the A16 autoroute.

Fully renovated in 1998, the cottage has a lounge/diner, fitted kitchenette with full oven, hob and microwave, shower/toilet room and a separate veranda dining area on the ground floor, with a double bedroom accessed via a single bedroom on the first floor.  There is a lawned garden to the rear, with garden furniture and barbecue.

The cottage is fully equiped including a washing machine, and has heating in all rooms by electric convectors.  It is designated 2 épis in the Gite-de-France approval system.

There is a railway station at 2.5 kms, at Rinxent.

The beaches of this coastline are duned and sandy, the nearest being about 8 kms away.  At a similar distance will be found the rugged capes Blanc-Nez and Gris-Nez, and several museums, some dedicated to the World Wars, which affected this area so much.

The whole area is one which is more often passed through than looked at, but which has much to offer the tourist, whether looking for beaches, history or just touring.  This is an ideal base for visiting many of the wartime cemeteries and memorials, and Belgium is also within easy reach.

The cottage is available weekly from Saturday at 4pm to Saturday at 10am, or for weekend or mid-week breaks.  Prices on application

A security deposit will be required on arrival, refundable if the property is left clean and in good order.
